John Michaelsen has over 35 years of brokerage, leasing and property management experience.  John has a B.A. from Washington & Lee University and an M.B.A. from Columbia University.  From 1966-1970 John served in the US Navy on Destroyers and exited with the rank of Lt.  For the next six years, he worked as Vice President for Citizens Financial Corp. In 1976 he and a partner started Capital Advisors in La Jolla, CA and focused on real estate development activities including acquisition, planning, construction, leasing and management of various income properties in San Diego County.  In 1982 John started CGP and has served as CEO and President since it's inception.

John has also served the real estate industry and community in various capacities. He is a Past President and board member of the San Diego County Apartment Association, Past President of the La Jolla High School Foundation, Past Chairman of the La Jolla YMCA and past Board of Trustees for the La Jolla Town Council. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Mount Soledad Memorial Association and is on the Board of the La Jolla Country Club.
